These results reinforce the leadership of the rapidly growing company. In the last 4 months 650 professionals have been hired - 100 for the Technology area. Throughout 2019, iFood will hire more than 1,000 employees. The company recently announced its US$ 500 million funding round through Movile, with Naspers, Innova Capital and Just Eat, the largest capital injection among private technology companies in Latin America, allowing iFood to innovate continuously. They also surpassed 55 thousand restaurants on the platform in the 483 cities they are present. Fabricio Bloisi, Movile’s CEO, explains: “We strongly believe in the Brazilian market potential and iFood is an example of everything we can achieve. Movile aims to positively impact the lives of 1 billion people, and iFood is an essential part of this challenge. For that to happen, we will continue expanding iFood’s business with focus on technology, artificial intelligence and logistics”. Moving the economy, bringing more options to users and new consumers to restaurants is just one part of the revolution. Over the years, iFood has expanded its business and continues to create solutions for key partners, always aiming to revolutionize the universe of food delivery for a more practical and enjoyable life. Carlos Moyses, iFood’s CEO, says: “The delivery market still has a lot of room to grow and we want to continue to lead this revolution. Promoting this transformation means, in fact, developing the entire food delivery ecosystem and improving the lives of all our stakeholders by creating opportunities and improving experiences for consumers, restaurants, delivery partners, as well as packaging and supplies producers and distributors”. Currently the company’s challenge is to take advantage of the large database and more than 1,400 employees in its Brazilian operation to continue its expansion. Thinking about consumers, iFood is increasing the number of restaurants, offering food choices for every meal - surpassing 55 thousand restaurants -, preference and budget. For restaurants, the priority is to offer management, logistics and payment solutions. Couriers are also a key part of the business. Therefore, iFood is also investing in technology to reduce the delivery perimeter between restaurant and consumer, ensuring couriers are available to meet the delivery demand of each area and quality of the meal received by customers. The company’s goal is to reduce delivery time, as the courier does not need to return to the restaurant to give back the terminal. Movile’s CEO concludes: “With the expansion of this service, the forecast is that everything will get faster. When a restaurant hires iFood’s delivery service, it does not have to wait for the couriers to come back to send another order, they can simply notify our base and we’ll make sure to find another available courier. As a result, the time it takes to fulfill the route between them and the restaurant decreases significantly. “, explains Bloisi.
