CEO MONTHLY / ISSUE 5 2018 5 , With more than 60 years of experience dressing women for all of life’s special oc- casions, David’s Brid- al is built on the ideal that every woman deserves to have the dress of her dreams regardless of her style preference, shape, size or budget. Recently, David’s Bridal an- nounced that the Company’s Board of Directors has appointed Scott Key as Chief Executive Of- ficer. He will assume day-to-day leadership of the Company. Paul Pressler has stepped down from his role as Chief Executive Officer and will remain Chairman of the Board of Directors. “The Board of Directors and I have the utmost confidence in Scott and his ability to take Da- vid’s Bridal forward,” said Press- ler. “He has demonstrated a deep understanding of our customer and our business, with a focus on innovation and digital transfor- mation designed to position the brand as the leader in the bridal space.” “I see tremendous opportunity for David’s Bridal to continue to grow in bridal and beyond,” said Key. “I am excited to partner with the Board and the talented leadership team here to lead the brand to fu- ture success and expansion.” Key is a 25-year retail veteran with a proven record of driving or- ganic growth by establishing new businesses and transforming ex- isting brands to be more customer centric and digitally focused. Pri- or to his role as CEO, Scott was the EVP and General Manager for David’s Bridal, overseeing the marketing, digital, and service teams to drive a customer and digital first experience. Scott has also held multiple leadership posi- tions at Gap Inc. including as the SVP/Brand President of ATHLE- TA where he was responsible for transforming the brand post-ac- quisition into a $500M omni-chan- nel retailer. In addition to this, he was also the SVP of Customer Engagement Marketing, an op- erating division with a $10B P&L, as well as head of Gap Global Customer Experience. His strate- gies have driven sales, customer acquisition, retention, and growth. Scott has served on a number of non-profit boards and received his B.A. in Psychology and Art History from Occidental College. Engility, a $2 billion technology leader, has thousands of employees around the world working to make a difference. Engility Chairman and CEO Lynn Dugle spoke to leaders of the intelligence community yesterday at the first-ever symposium, The New IC: Empowering Women and Engaging Men. “In the 21st century, women can’t succeed without men’s help, and men can’t succeed without women,” Dugle told the crowd. “I hope that each of us will accept the invitation and the challenge of David’s Bridal Appoints Scott Key as Chief Executive Officer looking at diversity and equality in the workplace, as well as empow- ering women and engaging men in a new and refreshed way.” Hosted by the Intelligence and National Security Alliance (INSA), the purpose of the forum was to bring together leaders in the intel- ligence community to discuss the professional issues that women face in national security careers, the leadership track for females in the industry, and determine a path to increase representation of women in technology. “One of the core themes of The New IC is expanding leadership opportunities for women,” said INSA Chief Operating Officer Suzanne Wilson Heckenberg. “As the chief executive of a premier services provider to the intelligence and national security communities, Lynn has expertise and insight that will resonate deeply with our attendees. She is a leader of great integrity and extensive industry leadership experience, making her an ideal keynote for this inaugural event. INSA is delighted to have her participation.” Dugle is well-recognised as a dynamic leader in a historically male-dominated industry, and she dedicates her personal time to causes that support female lead- ership, diversity, mentorship, and opportunities in science and edu- cation. She was the first industry leader to sign the CEO Action for Diversity and Inclusion Pledge, which aims to cultivate workplace environments where all ideas are welcomed and employees feel comfortable and empowered to discuss diversity and inclusion. Dugle has received numerous awards for her efforts, including last year’s Washington Business Journal’s distinguished “Women Who Mean Business.” She was named one of the most influential leaders in government contracting in 2017 and 2018, and one of the Women Worth Watching in 2017 by Profiles in Diversity Journal. “To see real progress in diversity and equality, women and men need the patience—and the courage—to explain, not just communicate,” said Dugle. Paul Pressler resumes Chairman role; Key brings proven record in specialty retail.
