CEO MONTHLY / ISSUE 6 2018 5 , FLS Transportation Services Limited, one of North-Amer- ica’s leading Third Party Logistics (3PL) firms, is delighted to announce the appointment of John Leach as Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Mr. Leach joins FLS from Coyote Logistics, where he was Chief Commercial Officer, responsible for customer-facing sales and marketing strategies and com- mercial growth. Commenting on his appointment as CEO, Mr. Leach said, “For the 30 years since its founding, FLS has been a best-in-class 3PL, de- livering innovative solutions to its client base. I am honoured to lead such an experienced FLS team. I look forward to creating extraordi- nary value in this role as we focus on the continued growth of the company. These are very excit- ing times in the 3PL space, and as one of the top 3PLs in North America, FLS is well positioned to build upon its substantial base of blue-chip customers.” Mr. Leach, after earning a Bach- elor of Science in business from Old Dominion University, began his two-decade-long career in sales and commercial operations in the telecommunications space, first at Mobilecomm Inc., and then BTI Telecom. In 1995 Telco Com- munications Group welcomed John as Senior Vice President (SVP) of Sales, where he was a member of the executive team when the company went public and then was acquired twice over. He served as SVP and General Manager of its North American offices when, in 2000, he depart- ed for Covista Communications to become CEO and President. After successfully selling the commercial business at Covista, John left to be President at PAE- TEC. In 2009, John was recruited to Windstream Communications, where as EVP, he led commercial sales for the $6 billion company. In 2015, he was recruited to Coy- ote. Throughout his professional tenure, John has been a proud supporter of The First Tee, Ron- ald McDonald House Charities, and Junior Achievement. In March 2016, FLS was recapi- talised by a leading North-Amer- ican private equity fund, Abry Partners. Azra Kanji, partner at Abry, said in a statement “We are fortunate that we have such an able and experienced executive in John Leach. His remarkable track record as a leader and ex- ecutive with substantial expertise in logistics will be invaluable as FLS continues its prolific growth.” CryoLife, Inc., a leading cardiac and vascular surgery company focused on aortic disease, announced on the 19th June 2018 the appointment of Marna Borgstrom to its Board of Directors effective immediately. Pat Mackin, Chairman, President, and Chief Executive Officer, commented, “Marna has nearly 40 years of escalating senior leadership experience at Yale New Haven Health System, where she was an integral part of the sys- tem’s strategy and evolution into a multi-unit health system as the current CEO. Marna is well-versed in driving profitability while oper- ating on a budget and has deep experience in developing partner- ships and recruiting and retaining executives and physician leaders. Her extensive experience coupled with her knowledge and recogni- tion within the healthcare industry will complement our Board and provide invaluable guidance as we continue our mission as a market leader.” Ms. Borgstrom stated, “I appre- ciate the opportunity to join the CryoLife Board of Directors, as I see the Company’s unwavering commitment to the advancement of patient standard of care and quality of life matched only by my own. I look forward to working with the CryoLife team as they continue to drive the Company’s growth and industry awareness.” Since 2005, Ms. Borgstrom has presided as President and Chief Executive Officer in addition to a board member of the Yale New Haven Health System, an integrat- ed health care delivery system that operates in Connecticut, western Rhode Island and Westchester County (New York). Additionally, Ms. Borgstrom currently serves on several nationally recognised boards including Vizient, Inc., a pri- vately held, member-driven health care performance improvement company, the Coalition to Protect America’s Healthcare and the Healthcare Institute. Ms. Borg- strom received her Bachelor of Arts from Stanford University and Masters in Public Health from Yale University.
