24 CEO MONTHLY / ISSUE 9 2019 , Words by Dan Vitner Important SEO Tips You Should Remember Those of you who haven’t been doing Internet marketing for very long might be puzzled by the term SEO. Just what is SEO anyway? Why is it so important? Search Engine Optimization is known as SEO. SEO is a critical tool that Internet marketers use to ensure that search engines give their content and sites a high ranking, and that’s why it’s so important. The best Internet marketers have a great understanding of SEO and use it to bring their site to the highest ranks on search engines, which will turn a huge profit for them. It’s not difficult to learn basic SEO techniques, so don’t worry that it will be hard to do. You just need to know where to start! Let’s take a look at some basic information that will help you get started. You will not see success with search engine optimization immediately. It takes Google a long time to crawl the entire internet. The truth is that the Internet is just enormous! You’ll need to have enough patience to wait for your site to rise in the search engine rankings after you’ve worked on getting the right keywords and tags into its content. Search engine spiders, including Google’s, need time to crawl all the sites on the internet. Do not believe any service that promises you “the front page in 24 hours!” This is simply not possible. Be patient. Give your site a couple of months before you switch techniques or rip down your content and try to redo it! Do not be tempted by “black hat” SEO techniques like stuffing a bunch of keywords at the bottom of your page but making the text white so that it matches the page background or stuffing a bunch of keywords under your image files. Rather than raise you through the page rankings, these will get you blacklisted by the big search engines. Whatever you do, don’t take anyone’s word that something is legitimate – make sure you know whether or not you’re getting scammed by these particular methods, or if they actually work. Instead, breathe in good practices. Resist letting yourself be dragged down. Try not to fret about what rank your page or website gets. Even though you do want to get this number higher and higher, it’s not going to be of good use to you if you sit and obsess about it every day. This number is not going to stay the same anyway, because the page ranks are re-calibrated. Not only this, but Google changes the criteria for their spiders constantly, so page ranks will always be going up and down. If your website is good enough and full of quality content, it won’t matter what SEO you have, you’ll get better page rankings! {Because it is an incredibly hard thing to figure out all the ins and outs of SEO rules and things you can do to help, it may seem like you will never get a grasp of it. This is doubly so because the criteria changes all the time! But don’t worry; you’ll learn how to create search-engine- and reader-friendly content with a little up-front time spent researching and learning about SEO. You can get on Google’s front page before you know it! SEO is no big mystery. Search Engine Optimization equals text, links, popularity and reputation. That’s really all there is to it. Once you know how to manage these four areas, all of the other little hints and tricks you read about do not matter. In fact, these should be your primary focus even if you aren’t trying to incorporate SEO. Try not to fret about using every single SEO fad you come across in your marketing. They are fads and will come and go quickly as Google alters their page rankings. Instead focus on good readable content and the SEO will fall into place naturally! There are so many different search engine optimization tricks to remember that you shouldn’t even try to remember them all. All you need to know is the basic rules and tips to using SEO and you will do great. Just like all other internet marketing techniques, SEO is constantly changing. Outside of the basics, what is popular today might be banned tomorrow! So keep updated with the changes, and don’t try to do too much at once. In no time at all, you will find yourself utilizing SEO and not even know that you are doing it! It will become an automatic part of every internet marketing project you take on. Search Engine Optimization involves more than is at first readily apparent. Between inbound links, outbound links, keywords and all sorts of other criteria, figuring out how to keep the search engines happy can feel like a full-time job! However, once you get the hang of it, it’s really easy to implement SEO in your daily work. As soon as you figure out the rules and ways to rank, you will have it down pat. If you have your own website or are starting your own Internet marketing campaign, you need to know Search Engine Optimization. No individual could track down anything on the Internet if they did not have it to help them! If you want to experience online success, you definitely need to incorporate SEO techniques in your marketing arsenal. There are all sorts of approaches an internet marketer can take with SEO. You might take a “Content is King” approach while someone else prefers to simply “SEO the heck out of certain pages.” Eventually you will find your groove and SEO techniques will start to become almost subconscious. SEO could even become a second nature to you, and you could be making maximum results with minimal effort!
