Ocean Frontier Institute

Dr. Anya Waite is the CEO and scientific director of the Ocean Frontier Institute, led by Dalhousie University. Formerly, she was a Winthrop Professor in Australia and Section Head of Biological Oceanography at the Alfred Wegener Institute. Dr. Waite has won numerous teaching awards, as well as Japan’s Yoshida Award for oceanographic upwelling research. Previously, she served as co-chair of the Global Ocean Observing System and Canada’s representative on the WMO Greenhouse Gas Study Group.
